Humanitarian services in Abia a purely authentic approach, ~Gov. Ikpeazu

As the World celebrates the year 2022 World Humanitarian Day celebration, the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has said that humanitarian work/services in the State have become a purely authentic approach.

Speaking shortly after a road walk sensitization exercise powered by the Office of the Special Adviser to the Abia State Governor on Humanitarian Affairs, NGO Matters and Social Development in partnership with Vision Africa Radio; Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development and DON Lulu Foundation, Gov. Ikpeazu called for joint action to promote humanitarian work, address the dearth of aid workers in the country and also end attacks against civilians, as well as humanitarian workers.

His words, “Today is the day we set aside to celebrate people who unfortunately died on the line of duty to save life, both here and outside Nigeria and also those of us who are still involved in life-saving services.

“This year’s theme, it takes a community, encourages all of us to be involved, so we are asking each and everyone of us, wherever corner we see ourselves to assist in saving life. Every life in this world and Abia State matters and as a government we take every life very important and must be protected. That’s why Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu from the inception of this government has done everything that will promote humanity. And, we will continue to do that all through our administration”.

Also Speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Francis Origa described the day as a very significant one geared towards cultivating and promoting humanitarianism and disclosed that Abia is among the leading States in the Country that has given attention to the World Humanitarianism in the State.

Dr Origa said the present administration will continue to demonstrate its commitment towards the advancement of humanity and celebrate the country’s real heroes and humanitarian aide workers that lost their lives in the cause of service to humanity.

The walk for humanity attracted the presence of member representing Umunneochi state Constituency and PDP Deputy Governor candidate, Hon. Okey Igwe, Chief of Staff to Governor, Chief Okey Ahaiwe, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dr.. Eze chikamnayo, Commissioner for Homeland and Security, Hon. Sopuruchi Beke and many other top government officials.
