Take a Step Back

A common tool used in dialectical behavior therapy is the acronym “STOP”.

This stands for: stop, take a step back, observe, proceed mindfully.

Step back and take a look at your emotions.

Allow yourself to calm down. Then look at the obstacle as if someone else were facing it. What advice would you give them?
