Connak Foundation has announced the postponement of its 10th-anniversary cum annual yuletide events which was supposed to be held during the Christmas period.
A release signed by the CEO of the organization, Mrs. Carole Emeka Sunday and made available to our correspondent reads :
“At an executive session held on Sunday, 30th October 2022, the board of Connak
Foundation, after extensive deliberations, has decided to postpone its 10th
Anniversary/Annual Yuletide events.
We understand that this change may cause great inconvenience for our beneficiaries’,
partners, sponsors, stakeholders, and well-meaning individuals who have confirmed
their travel plans/schedules to attend the annual yuletide activities of the Foundation. We
regret the inconvenience that may arise from rescheduling your plans on short notice.
We take this decision out of an abundance of caution, in cognizance of the political
climate and peculiarity of the season at this time in our dear country Nigeria. As a non-
a partisan non-governmental organization, our events are open to all persons irrespective
of age, creed, or affiliation and we do not want any of our events to be misrepresented or
misconstrued as being in alliance with any group or used as a platform to promote or
propagate other interests.”
The release added that new dates for all postponed program activities will be communicated in due course.
Mrs. Sunday further reminded the youths to shun all clandestine activities, refrain from being used by anyone
to create chaos as Nigeria navigates her political season, stressing that young people should be mindful of safety and security, and exercise caution even as they go
about exercising their civic duties.
