The Abia State Coalition of Civil Society Organizations wishes to condemn in strong terms the gruesome murder of a young man identified as Izuchukwu Mbakwe by security personnel attached to the Abia State Vigilante Service.
From accounts made available to us, the gruesome and senseless murder of the diseased who is said to be a staff of a popular Fast food joint in Umuahia indicated that it was a premeditated and carefully executed plan to cut short the life of this poor youth.
We wish to call on the Abia State Government to activate every necessary machinery to ensure e thorough investigation into this unwholesome incident to ensure that this case is not swept under the carpet but unravels the perpetrators, particularly the killer and his accomplices; ensuring that they face the full wrath of the law.
The Abia Coalition of Civil Society Organizations also wishes to state unequivocally that we will follow this case to ensure that justice is done to serve as a deterrent to gun-wielding individuals who hide under the uniform of security agencies to commit heinous crimes.
This Organization condoles with the family of the deceased and is assured of our commitment and efforts in ensuring that those behind the death of Izuchukwu are brought to book to forestall future occurrences.
