The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon.Benjamin Kalu has lent his voice to a motion calling for the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
�Hon. Kalu in his amendment to the motion moved by Member Representing, Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Ginger Onwusibe on Thursday, July 6, 2023, called for an amicable approach to releasing the IPOB leader, adding that other political and diplomatic solutions should be considered.
He further pleaded for the intervention of the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu adding that the release will bring lasting peace to the South East region.
The Deputy Speaker also stressed that the release will calm the tension caused by insecurity bedeviling the region as well as restore a healthy security situation once the approach is followed.
