Abia state Governor, Dr Alex Otti OFR has announced that the reconstruction of Ohanku Road, Aba will commence immediately after the Easter celebration even as work has commenced on Obohia Road also in Aba.
Governor Otti who broke this cheering news at the Christ The King Catholic Church (CKC) Aba during their 2024 Chrism mass, said that the roads would be done with cement pavement technology to enable them to last longer.
The Governor also noted that he has started fulfilling his campaign promises and assured that pensioners in the state would have started receiving their pensions.
The state Governor said he is not taking the church of God for granted knowing their significant roles in enthroning good governance in the state and congratulated the priests of the church who partook in renewing their vows during the Special mass.
He especially thanked the CKC Church for the level of support it has been giving to him and his government which he noted accounts for why the church was the first he visited a day after he was declared Governor of the state.
In his address, the Catholic Bishop of Aba Diocese, the Most Rev Augustine Echema said that Governor Otti has through his good works in the state and Aba in particular secured his second term in office and described the ongoing reconstruction of Port Harcourt road, Aba as a benchmark.
Bishop Echema while also describing Governor Otti as a good man with a docile heart, said that for the first time, Abians are proud of their Governor.
