The Rivers State Police Command says the Governorship candidate of the National Rescue Movement, Sobomabo Jackrich, was arrested early this morning and not abducted as reported on social media.
Spokesperson of the Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, tells our correspondent that Mr Jackrich was arrested by a sister security agency. SP Iringe-Koko also said that two persons died during the operation.
Earlier, an aide to Mr Jackrich said he was abducted by gunmen at his residence in Usokun, Degema Local Government Area early this morning. The aide named those killed during the incident as Diamond Tamunoiminabo and Sincere Jackrich, adding that the gunmen also took away their bodies.
