Soludo Does Not Owe Salaries, Says Anambra Commissioner

Anambra State Commissioner for Industry, Christian Udechukwu, has said that Governor Chukwuma Soludo does not owe workers their salaries.

The commissioner admitted that the Nigerian economy has been under some stress of late due to production and power generation challenges.

He made this remark during an interview on the ‘Business Morning‘ segment of Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily show on Wednesday.

Udechukwu said, “The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, is people-focused and spends lots of time to relieve the pressure of the present economy off his people.”

The commissioner admitted that the Nigerian economy has been under some stress of late due to production and power generation challenges. “This has led to the upward price pressure on transportation and food prices,” he said.

The commissioner stated that if Nigeria has a stable petrol supply, then there will be stable petrol prices and people won’t shut down the fuel stations leading to high cost of transport and food supply.

Udechukwu further stated that the Anambra government has provided primary and secondary free education, free mobility and safety movement for the people in the state.

“All these is funded through product financial management…We are putting it back into the pocket of the people. The governor does not owe salaries and funds are set aside to support SMEs through partnership with the Bank of Industry.”

“In terms of what we are doing to ensure our youths grow, we have a one to two years programme with over 5,000 youths benefiting and a token N400,000 received each at the end of the skills acquisition.

“We have trained 20,000 youths under the Solution Innovation District, a partnership with Microsoft and other tech companies,” he explained.
